Windows Marketplace for Mobile updated, PC-based shopping now available

Microsoft announced that Windows Marketplace for Mobile has just received several new features, including developer portal enhancements, PC-based shopping and an anti-piracy protection.

From now on, Windows Mobile 6.5 users will be able to buy applications not only via their phones, but also from their desktop PCs, by visiting the Windows Marketplace for Mobile website.

The changes concerning the improved anti-piracy protection “will be transparent for customers”, but app developers should benefit from them – this PDF provides more info.

As for support for Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.0, this should come later this month.
