Wall Street Journal offers free mobile news reader for BlackBerry users

Read the Wall Street Journal? Own a BlackBerry? If so, then you might want to take a look at this so-called WSJ.com Mobile Reader, which is available as a free download.

The WSJ.com Mobile Reader is supposedly going to let users view headlines, summaries and even read full articles free of charge. It should also work with content from other sites in the WSJ Digital Network which are MarketWatch, Barrons, and AllThingsD. And did I mention it’s free?

At the moment the good people from over at WSJ.com say that they hold no plans to try and make money off the Mobile Reader, but who’s to stop them if they do?

With the proliferance of iPhone app store apps, it’s a bit surprising they did this first for the BlackBerry. We won’t be as surprised, though, if they follow up with a version for the fruit phone in the not too distant future.
