Vodacom South Africa to launch iPhone on July 20
Usually, it’s very hard to put a pin on official Apple product release dates until an official announcement is made, but we have word that the 3G iPhone will not be launching in South Africa until July 20th of this year. The bad news is, it’s more than one month later from official US launch. But the good news is that at least it’s happening this year.
Vodacom will be the official carrier of the iPhone in South Africa, as part of the multinational deal that its parent company Vodafone scored with Apple.

If this holds true, it’s possible that the rest of the countries in the newly signed Apple iPhone deals will also release the iPhone at a later date than the official US launch.
In any case, the whole world will still be able to learn the latest developments as Steve Jobs goes on stage at this year’s WWDC. Keep it here for further announcements.
