Samsung held a design contest hard drives

Samsung Company recently held a "second design external hard drives Samsung Electronics". Grand Prix winner of a draft Annual Ring ( "Annual Ring"), developed by Song Ji Baekom, a student at the University Mokvon. The competition was attended by external storage, equipped with 1.3 - 1.8 - 2.5 - and 3.5 - inch hard drive. Applicants must be allowed all applicants, only about 300 were submitted design solutions. Total prizes were awarded nine works - a Grand Prix, a gold medal, two silver and five bronze.


The concept of "Annual Ring" (Annual ring) Songa Gee Baeka, winner of Grand Prix, recalled cut tree trunk. The rings are similar to the annual tree rings, changing color, shows how much space is available on disk. For the project was used miniature 1.3 - inch hard disk Samsung.


Gold Medal was awarded the work of "Turn On" (On) Kim Ji Eun and four of his friends from Hongik University. The idea of design was born when young inventors connected to an external drive ordinary light switch, using it as an indicator to reflect the number of functional procedures.


Silver medals were projects "My Data Tree" (My tree data) and "Free Hug" (ambiguous title, hinted at a recent campaign "Free embrace").


Prizes were marked "Yeon" (Chernilnaya cooker), "Bugi", "Bbokbboki", "Pump" (pump) and "Soft" (Soft).
