Orange’s awesome hole-phone

As concept mobiles go, this is nothing short of genius. Designed by De Montfort University student Chi Shing Lo as part of Orange’s D&AD Student Awards, it replaces the cameraphone’s viewfinder with a simple hole, as well as using it to hang the phone on a charger when its low on juice, or needs to upload shots to a PC.
Shunning fiddly cables, troublesome camera menus and making use of the phone’s shape to solve the problem of shooting a quick snap, the design set our minds racing instantly.
There’s no word on whether it’ll go into production, but we love the idea of induction charging just by hanging the handset on a “power-peg,” as well as peeping through the spy-hole to snap photos of our friends.
Congratulations to Chi Shing Lo on his wonderful work.
