While we’re waiting for the real star of the Nseries (a.k.a. Nokia N96) to come out in the open, feast your first in the meantime and break your piggy banks for the Nokia N78.

It’s the newest Nseries device to be released by Nokia, and as you may have already guessed, it takes most of the features of the prized product line and upgrades them all big time. Almost.

The Nokia N78 packs Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, and HSDPA network connectivity in a single slab of black, shiny candy bar. It comes in three dashes of brown, blue and white, and is preloaded with Symbian Series 60 OS 9.3 Feature Pack 2. Put simply, it’s the latest and greatest of the Nseries, but not quite.

It comes only with a 3.2 megapixel camera which may look like a joke when compared to the N95 and N82’s 5MP ones, but the N78 is also covered by Carl Zeiss autofocus optics and a “good enough” LED flash.

You’ll be able to snag one of these at Nokia’s flagship stores in Chicago and New York, as well as various other local sellers and online stores, if you know where to look. Oh, and the price is around $560. Our hands-on review will be coming up shortly.
