Nokia’s Series 40,Symbian and Maemo Plans
Nokia has announced its big plans for its mobile Operating Systems.
Nokia said that it will continue to develop Series 40 by adding new functions such a touchscreen, dual-SIM, QWERTY keyboards etc. It also plans to increase speeds and introduce multi-touch for Symbian (Series 60) and Maemo handsets.
Nokia expects a growth in Maemo share with the release of Maemo 6 and hopefully occupying a good market share by 2011. Symbian 1 is expected to be released in the beginning of 2010 and Symbian 2 by end of 2010.
They state that Symbian will be platform of choice keeping Maemo for high-end devices.
