Next-gen iPhone existence unearthed, is lurking somewhere in San Francisco

Apple’s next-gen iPhone has shown its proof of existence. Pandav, developer of iBART app has confirmed to Macrumors about a new iPhone device showing up in their logs.
The device’s internal device identification number was recorded as iPhone3,1, which by the way hasn’t been assigned to any of the iPhones. iPhone 3GS is identified as iPhone2,1.
So what does this mean? This indicates that Apple’s ready with a prototype that’s roaming in San Francisco, waiting to be clicked by some eagle-eyed tech enthusiast. Or not.
The next iPhone update is expected in mid 2010.
