Lexar announces new 16GB JumpDrive Secure II Plus
Like all other forms of storage for computers and other digital devices, flash drives are always growing in capacity. As files get larger and more people are carrying video and images with them on flash drives, manufacturers are enlarging the capacity of flash drives.
Last week Lexar announced a 16GB version of its FireFly flash drive. Today, Lexar announced a new 16GB JumpDrive Secure II Plus flash drive that doubles the capacity previously available. The drive features an external display to show how much storage is left on the drive at a glance.
Lexar also includes security software on the drive to allow users to protect data, photos, and music stored on the drive. The software encrypts the data on the drive so if the drive is lost the data can’t be accessed. The encryption used on the drive is 256-bit AES and files dragged into the encryption folder of the drive are automatically encrypted. The new Secure II drive will be available in September for $99.
