Communicator O2 XDA Zest: operator version ASUS Galaxy7?

The website of British operator O2 in the "coming soon for sale" was a picture and description of the communicator XDA Zest. This machine is running an operating system Windows Mobile, following a form-factor besklaviaturnogo monoblock. Among its features - wireless Wi-Fi, built GPS-receiver, 5-MP camera, 4 GB internal memory, expansion slot and support networks of 3G. Presumably, O2 XDA Zest is based on a hardware platform ASUS Galaxy7 (we have seen this device in the news), at least, communicators are very similar in characteristics. While the design version of the operator O2 is significantly different from the original model.

Intel likely to make equity investment in WiMAX licensee Vmax, says paper

Intel is likely to contribute an equity investment of NT$500 million (US$15.4 million) in Taiwan-based WiMAX licensee Vmax Telecom, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.

Vmax's board of directors on October 6 approved a plan to increase the company's capital from NT$1 billion to NT$2 billion, paving the way for Intel to inject its capital into Vmax, the paper added.

The paper also quoted Vmax chairman CK Liu as saying that Vmax aims to kick off its WiMAX services in the first quarter of 2009 and hopes to solicit a total of 80,000 subscribers by year-end 2009.
