Google Maps for S60 & Windows Mobile handsets now offer Transit directions
Google has just announced the release of Google Maps for mobile with Transit directions for Symbian S60 and Windows Mobile powered handsets on the Official Google Mobile Blog. Google Maps for mobile is actually on version 2.2 now and features the addition of commuter-friendly transit directions.
The instructions to use this new feature in Google Maps for Mobile are quite simple: “Simply bring up Directions from the main menu and you’ll see a second tab labeled Transit (or Public Transport), where you can request a route using only public transportation,” according to Google. “You’ll receive a number of alternatives that take you (car-free) to your destination.”

Google Maps now provides transit directions in over 50 cities around the world, and Google is working with transit agencies to add more cities in that list of 50.
Also available in this new version of Google Maps for mobile is star-ratings for businesses. You can find out more and download the new version of Google Maps for mobile from google.com/gmm.
