Remember the old Mission Impossible, when “this message” would self destruct in 24 hours. It is now a reality at least in paper form, thanks to Xerox. They’ve come up with self-erasing paper that can be used over and over again. Of course that’s great for trees and our environment in general. It’s also great for spys and paranoid types. The paper is not erasable, but self-erasing, leaving you with a completely blank sheet of paper after 24 hours that you can reuse up to 100 times.
The paper contains specially coded molecules that create a print after being exposed to ultraviolet light emitted from a thin bar in a printer. The molecule actually readjusts itself within 24 hours to its original form to delete the print, or applying heat can readjust the molecule instantly. Pretty nifty.

[CES 2008] CES is huge, so all the walking around and jostling with more than a hundred thousand folks can get pretty tiring after four days. Take five at the Oxygen Bar - I know that the Japanese have these oxygen cans on sale for quite some time now, but this is something refreshing to look at even though it is not new. Hopefully all those tired and gloomy-looking faces you see on top will brighten up once they’re done with a dose of pure oxygen.

Watchfire Digital Outdoor has announced its next generation of digital billboards that utilize the latest field adjustable super-efficient LED technology as well as a new cabinet design that reduces the board’s weight by up to 12%. This new billboard provides outdoor operators with the choice between a super-bright, super-vivid 7,500 NIT daytime setting for maximum impact or a setting as low as 5,000 NITs, that is by far the more suitable approach in many situations. This new line of billboards can theoretically save outdoor operators up to 40% on energy bills, although being conservative, you could probably halve that amount. With the capability of dialing-in 100 levels of customizable daytime brightness, you no longer need to worry about people being unable to see what you’re advertising come rain or shine.

Of course, you’ll have to work a little for it and… drink some Pepsi. The promo code will be in Pepsi’s bottle-cap, an age-old promotional tool for Pepsi and rival Coca-cola. But that’s not it, you will need five caps to get one free download… Yikes, that’s probably too much Pepsi for me. Anyhow, now you know, so happy drinking.
