Tokyoflash Ni watch: so complex it has to explain itself?

Tokyoflash have announced another watch, and it seems the readout on the Ni is so confusing that they’ve actually had to annotate the LEDs.  Rows of lights are embedded into the horizontally-grooved stainless steel case, and at the touch of a button the LEDs illuminate in turn from top to bottom to let you add up exactly what time it is.

A second press of the button indicates the date.  LED animations are flashed through before the time or date is settled on.  The Ni is also water-resistant to 3ATM.

Three versions of the Ni are available, with either white LEDs, blue LEDs or red & green LEDs.  They’re all priced at $144.07 including five-day worldwide delivery.

Watches made from spare space parts

Watches made from spare space partsSwiss watchmaker Romain Jerome has released something new and amazingly awesome in the “Moon Dust-DNA” collection. It’s a collection of 1969 timepieces that includes watches made from such things as moon dust, parts of the Apollo 11 rocket and even pieces actual spacesuits. Why 1969 timepieces? That was the year of the first moon landing.

The dials feature tiny craters with dust in them from moon rocks, the cases include bits of steel from the Apollo 11 space shuttle and the strap gets the same treatment, containing fibers from a spacesuit worn during the ISS mission. So if you want to get yourself several pieces of things that have actually been in space, this is a good way to do it. Pricing for the Moon Dust-DNA watches is also out of this world, starting at $15,000 and goes as high as $500,000.

Cycle Life watch knows your routine well

Cycle Life watch knows your routine wellMost of us have a pretty boring routine. Designer Andy Kurovets had some fun with that fact with this watch that leads the user through the six stages of their average day. It starts with Wake Up!, then leads us through our commute. Next we are sitting at a PC at work, before eventually returning home to watch TV and finally going to bed.

Each stage lights up red at the proper time of day, so you know where you should be. If that’s too depressing for you, or if you get amnesia and forget your daily grind, it also features a regular readout of hours and minutes. It’s just a concept, but it’s a watch that fits most peoples mundane schedule.

$1,000 Sudoku watch only has one level

$1,000 Sudoku watch only has one levelI’ll be honest, I don’t understand the whole Sudoku craze. But this beautiful watch based on the game has a great look. It’s a shame it costs a fortune and only gives you a single level. The outlandishly priced watch commemorates one Leonard Euler, the Swiss mathematician whose Latin Squares inspired the game of Sudoku. It will cost you $995 and comes in a game box.

Tokyoflash Jackpot watch

Tokyoflash Jackpot watchWe all love Tokyoflash watches. They are the cutting edge of style and innovation. It gets even better when they put a game of chance on your wrist. The Tokyoflash Jackpot Watch is a stylish timepiece that allows you to spin the numbers like a slot machine.

You just need to press the button and set your bet amount, then hit another button to spin the digits. Hey, if you’ve got a gambling problem this may keep you out of the casinos. The Tokyoflash Jackpot Watch retails for $100 and sadly does not shower your wrist with tiny coins when you win. Can we get somebody working on that?

Oracle watch is confusing, looks cool

Oracle watch is confusing, looks coolThe Oracle Watch is a pretty slick looking digital watch. It mixes the ancient art of telling time with the ancient Chinese philosophy of I Ching. Though I think the maker was thinking more about the ancient art of “Ka-ching I got your money”. How it works, I have no idea. It’s all pretty confusing. I think the basic idea is that it’s a fancy Magic 8-Ball for your wrist. It will guide you and share it’s wisdom, secure in the knowledge that they got your money. Still, it’s a pretty sweet looking watch.
