It’s an all in one semi-portable unit that will do everything for you while driving except pleasure your nether regions. Personal GPS trackers seem to be a dime a dozen these days. It’s actually making me a little paranoid, not that anyone would want to keep tabs on me… or would they? Transystem’s i-Tracker is the latest to come to my attention and it comes with both a GPS and a GSM module to transmit tracking information to a computer or phone in real time.
To be a bit redundant… it will be controlled via a predetermined handset or PC, so it seems it’s one or the other. It also comes with an SOS button that will instantly send out the current location.
I have no word on either pricing or availability. Just keep in mind that there may be repercussions if you’re caught using this on someone.

The Palm people didn’t have much new to show, but they had a new GPS application and they had a new car mount for the Centro. Really it looked to be resizable so you could probably use it with any phone, but they had the Palm Centro in it.

It was next to the GPS app stuff because you can put your phone in there and use the GPS hands free so it’s safer to operate, so on and so forth, you get the idea. It holds your phone so you can see it and still drive somewhat safely, that’s the gist of it.
I personally have no use for one even though I do have a Centro, but some of you that are more industrious with your Centro might find this interesting. I couldn’t find any pricing or availability information, and its not up on their site, so it looks like you’ll have to wait.

CES isn’t just about everything shiny. Once in a while, a really useful technology would be showcased. Take for example, PocketFinder and PocketFinder Pets. The location device technology is designed to monitor the whereabouts of anyone you put the small cookie-sized device onto. This makes it ideal to be used on children and for those who don’t have control of their own actions such as those afflicted with Alzheimer’s and mental illnesses. You can set boundaries or limits wherein which, when crossed would trigger an alert. With the new added “High Impact Alert” technology, you would even be notified if the one you’re monitoring experienced “force beyond a predetermined limit.” PocketFinder costs USD$100 plus the monthly service costs.
