I am glad to hear that Transcend has launched its StoreJet 25C, which is a 2.5-inch portable hard drive with 500GB of storage capacity. The device supports USB 2.0 interface and plug and play. No word on pricing at this time. [AVING]

Transcend has recently launched their new retail-packaged DDR3-1066 and DDR3-1333 240-pin DIMMs. Compared to DDR2, the new memory modules provides faster transfer speeds and better bandwidth with an 8-bit as opposed to 4-bit prefetch buffer. Its power consumption has reduced by 20-30% compared to systems with DDR2 memory. The new modules also adopts “Fly-by” architecture that provides more efficient direct communication between the controller and each DRAM chip. This new architecture also includes dynamic On-DIMM Termination to minimize signal reflections at higher speeds.
