With a little luck, you should be able to find a bunch of these for sale over on eBay with bids starting at just 99 cents (unfortunately international shipping from Hong Kong will set you back an extra $22.99).

It’s tradition to gift a watch to employees who have served you well and are retiring. So it’s easy to see Professor X commissioning this watch and presenting it to Wolverine one day. Of course that would make the Professor how old? Well, maybe in an alternate timeline anyway.
This is actually called the X-Watch and it’s a concept watch that should have been in the movie. It has numbers all along the length, and when they’re lit up it gives you the time. It also sports Braille so that the blind can use it. Or in case cyclops doesn’t have his visor handy and has to feel for the time.

We use the USB port for everything these days. Well, now it can even serve as a place to park your watch when not wearing it. At least if you have this watch, called the Timeless watch. It’s basically a hard drive ribbon with a usb adapter on one end and a watch face on the other. Connect both ends and you can barely call it a watch. Just charge it up and slap it on your wrist when you’re ready to hit the road.

In the near future, you can place the real watch on your thumb. Timex has collaborated with Core77 to held a global design competition called 2154: the future of time design. The picture above is the TX54 concept, which is a disposable clock and calender that can be worn on the user’s thumbnail. What a cool concept. [GizmoDiva]

While Japanese watch importer Tokyoflash is known for their offbeat electronic watch designs, this time they’re hitting the market with a bunch of new contemporary watches which are firmly grounded in the mechanical age.
The latest watches in their new Nekura series feature non-traditional analog dials, each of which possess a Space Age charm like something that might have found its way onto the set of 2001:A Space Odyssey. My personal favorite is the Tumbler, which tells time using a set of rotating numeric discs.
Among the designs are the Cabriolet, which features a green and black speedometer-like dial, and the Twilight, which offers a red white and blue theme, complete with retro computer font numbers.
The Tundra features an orange and cobalt blue dial, with a bold abstract geometric pattern. Each of the watches features a polished metal case with rounded corners and a curved glass crystal.
The self-adjusting stainless steel wristbands are trimmed with either black or clear edging, and adorned with custom engraving that ranges from futuristic to naturalistic.
All five of the watches retail for about $85 a piece and can be found over on the Tokyoflash website.

I guess watches are scheduled for extinction at some point. We can get the time from any of our gadgets after all. So, with that in mind, why not honor the watch by letting it take other forms. Like a large table for instance.
Oh, it will still give you the time and date, never fear. But now you can also put stuff on it and feel important. It measures 80cm x 230cm and runs on 240 volts. Just like a real watch it comes in more then one color, either silver, chrome or gold.
