"Nice picture, sound is ok, dvd/cd player is good"2009-10-06 By Samurai Tailor (Mobile, AL) We got one but have since returned it for one without a dvd player (same hdtv, sans player). THE REASON is that we didn't want to have to use 2 remote controls, one for Direct TV and one to power on the tv and control the volume. After long conversations with both Direct TV and Sylvania there was no way to get this COMBO TV to work thru the Direct TV remote. Other than that the TV quality is very good and the sound is acceptable - certainly not a device built for high quality CD listening.
"Sylvania 19" TV with DVD player HDTV Digital"2009-09-12 By M. Pergjuidi (San Martin, CA) This is a great TV. Price was right and only 2.99 for next day shipping. Was here on time. Color is beautiful and clear. My grandson
walked in and commented on the clear color picture.
Easy set up. Just added antenna and plugged it in. No problems.
Would recommend this TV to anyone. I have it in my bedroom which is 13 X 17 feet. Just right size.
"Good TV-DVD combo"2009-08-17 By Amazon Shopper Very good combo TV-Player. Batteries included for the remote, but you will have to get your own cables to hook up to cable TV, PC, or other external devices. No big deal, just be aware. You'll also need a philips screwdriver to attach the stand using the 3 supplied screws. Worked fine with an 8-foot cable I had for cable TV. This is for the kids' room and I had no need to hook up to surround sound or any other external devices. Picture and sound very good on both HDTV and DVD functions. A little slow changing channels but not that bad.
"Nice For the Price"2009-08-07 By Donna Zadka (Chicago,Il) This is a nice item for the price. It has a nice picture and sound quality. I was replacing a 13'television that I used to watch the news and sports on. It is a nice size. I think the DVD player is good being in the middle of the set and not on the side. It seems easier to put the dvd in. I think that the remote might not be great for someone with small hands, but it works well for me. I did have to purchase a new antenna, and HDTV one. I would suggest putting the antenna away from the tv like by a window. Once I got the antenna all the stations came in.
"Office TV"2009-08-02 By J. Barnes (Texas) I was given this tv for a gift. I love the flat screen and the picture is great for a small tv. I love shopping at Amazon as their prices are very good compared to some others around.
It’s time to change your old showerhead with this new ECOlight Water Powered Shower Light from Sylvania. This easy to install showerhead features bright and functional LED light as well as a smart water temperature indicator ring. Blue indicates when the water is cold and red when it’s hot. The light itself is powered by the flow of water, so there are no batteries to change, pretty cool! Priced at $39.99. [OhGizmo]
Why risk burning your hand in the shower before you’ve set the right temperature, when you can get the Sylvania ECOlight and avoid it? The device can be easily installed on most showerheads, and it features a bright LED light and an illuminated ring that will change color, depending on the temperature of the water.
Blue indicates water that is 78 degrees Fahrenheit or less, while red indicates a temperature over 105.8. The interesting thing about this device is that it’s powered by the flow of water using a built-in generator.
The Sylvania ECOlight will cost you $39.99. It will never be too hot or too cold for you again.
Sylvania have made a third stab at the netbook market and, since their rebranded Everex Cloudbook and g MESO models didn’t exactly set the world alight, they’re taking no chances and partnering with MSI this time around. Come the holidays you’ll be able to pick up the Sylvania MAGNI, a rebranded version of the MSI Wind, with a 10-inch display, 120GB hard-drive and 1GB of RAM.
Grunt is courtesy of an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, and there’ll be the usual two OS choices: Ubuntu netbook remix or Windows XP Home. There’s no confirmation on what battery will be included, but it’s likely to be either the 3-cell or rarer 6-cell that MSI have been supplying.
Going from these photos, there doesn’t appear to be many physical changes over the MSI Wind, so it’s likely that Sylvania’s approach will be to undercut on price. The company hasn’t confirmed the sticker price, but the Wind retails from around $479.99.
Sylvania has recently introduced their latest entry-level Blu-ray Player. You get to enjoy Blu-Ray cinematic experience at Full HD 1080p resolution on your compatible HDTV, or upconvert your existing DVDs to 1080p resolution. The player also features Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS HD, Linear PCM, and HDMI ver. 1.3. Support It is on sale this week for $279 and hopefull on Christmas it will be well below $250. We’ll keep you posted. [Sears]
Sylvania - that’s right, Sylvania - is geared up to release a low cost notebook to the masses. The new G Netbook will reportedly cost around $400 starting.
The Sylvania G Netbook, according to Sylvania, will make use of Intel’s new Atom processor. A 7-inch display model is reportedly already available, with 8.9- and 10-inch models set to follow soon. The newer Netbook models will let consumers choose from either Linux-based gOS or Microsoft XP operating systems.
Other features, mentioned in the specs for the 7-inch model, include 1GB of RAM, up to four hours of battery life, a 30GB hard drive, 802.11b/g and an integrated Web cam.
