Got an evil streak? The makers of the infamous TV-B-Gone remote control have come up with an extra-strength version of their gizmo which can turn off almost any television set from hundreds of feet away.
Packaged in a case that’s designed to look like a super-chunky mock iPhone, the TV-B-Gone SHP (Super High Power) can shut down more than 90% of all televisions worldwide with a simple push of a button. 8 ultra-powerful infrared emitters ensure that no TV will be safe from its hypnotic gaze. There’s even an instant reactivation mode which lets you turn off a bunch of sets in rapid succession.

It’s described as ergonomically designed to fit any size hand and fingers. No word on exactly how durable the little thing is, though.
Over at Evil Mad Scientist there is an easy DIY project that will make cleaning fun and better yet, it might encourage your slacker kids to help out a little. Hit the link if you want to see how simple it is.
Basically an unprinted circuit board is attached to an RC car of your choice which is used to mount a dust mop. After that it’s just cleaning and play. This has to be dirt cheap to produce in a factory. Remote controlled cleaning would sell a bunch of cleaning supplies. They got everyone to buy swiffers after all. Check out the video below.

When somebody says to me that they’ve got a new radio controlled vehicle for me to look at, I usually think of cars, trucks, helicopters or maybe even a tank. The last thing to pop into my mind is someone’s grandma strapped to a wheelchair. But what’s to say that I’ve always gotta be right?
Stunt Granny is a remote-controlled little old lady, strapped to a miniature motorized wheelchair. (You’ve gotta love the flame job on the sides, no?) The remote uses a joystick controller to steer her through a variety of obstacles, and offers a handy “Turbo” button for when gran needs to make a speedy getaway.
Packed right in the box are a number of props for the chair’s octogenarian occupant to navigate through, including a tiny wheelchair ramp for jumps, and a bunch of little grocery store items for you to knock over as you direct her through her death-defying feats a la Evel Knieval (who would be just about as old if he were still with us).
So what are you waiting for? You can get your hands on your own little daredevil senior citizen over on WowZZers for about $25.
Robot developer tmsuk has unveiled a remote-control robot that will give you a new way to shop from the comfort of your posterior. It’s a prototype of the telerobotic shopper, which is a modified TMSUK-4 humanoid robot that has a variety of cellphone communications technology. They had a demonstration on July 10 at the Izutsuya department store in the city of Kitakyushu, Japan, where it probably made the male robot wait while it tried on clothes and asked if each one made it’s ass look fat.
In the demonstration scenario, a grandmother unable to go shopping with her granddaughter sent the robot to do it for her. Using an NTT DoCoMo video-capable cellphone, the grandmother controlled the robot and did some shopping through the robot’s camera eyes. Surely this is a hoax. A grandmother who can use a cell phone AND a robot? The woman maneuvered the robot to the hat section, eyed what was available, and had her granddaughter model a few for her before deciding which one to purchase.
This radio-controlled tank proves that armored military vehicles don’t always carry a deadly payload. In fact, this one delivers a cold, frosty one instead.
The beverage bearing R/C tank doesn’t really care if you drink Bud Light or Bawls, but it will make sure your thirst is quenched, thanks to its 4 built-in can holders.
Not only can it deliver delicious drinks, the little tank can fire 6mm BB bullets at targets up to 90 feet away. That’s right, don’t mess with my Brewskis! Thankfully, there’s a flashing warning light that lets you know to get the heck out of the way. Of course, these Engrish warnings from the manual don’t make me feel too warm and fuzzy about the safety of this thing.
Did I happen to mention that it’s amphibious? Yep, the tank can travel on land or in the water, thanks to a retractable 4-wheel drive mechanism.
When you get near a body of H2O, just flip a switch on the remote and the wheels retract as the tank converts to boat mode (although they do get in the way of the drink holders when stowed).
So what’s not to like? You can find the beer-toting, gun-packing, land-driving, water-floating R/C tank here for £44.99 (appx. $92 USD).
We live in an age in which getting up to change the channel is unheard of. So at least if you are gonna do it from the comfort of your lounge chair, you can do it with style. This wacky retro ray-gun remote control is sure to draw stares whenever you aim it at the TV.
Looking sort of like something that Marvin the Martian might have used to destroy the Earth with, the ray-gun remote control can only change channels, and (unfortunately) won’t blow anything to smithereens. Just pull the trigger, and it’ll make some sort of fun sci-fi sound effects while it zaps Dr. Phil from your screen and replaces him with the only slightly less annoying Rachel Ray.
You’ll have to wait a little while to get your hands on one of these though, as they’re not coming out until this August. In the mean time, you can pre-order from UK gadget shop Play.com for £8.99 (appx. $18 USD).
