After I showed you the dual USB memory stick/bottle opener I definitely have to show you another memory stick mixed with alcohol. This time the beer will be inside the USB stick and not splashed around it. Budweiser's Beer Drive looks interesting and it should head straight to AA meetings.
Besides beer you can have the stick in any other colors with any other logos on it. The USB stick should also come packed with various digital information related to your promotion. So if you're a big compay, with lots of money available for publicity and some sense of humor, you might start ordering these USB sticks. They come in all sorts and sizes, but you'd have to order from 250 pieces and up. Maximum capacity is 8GB but it can go as low as 128MB.
With 9 days left until the Mac event, more and more rumors are getting released. Most of recent ones talk about are either "leaked" shots or stories about how new Macs are being made.
This rumor right here says Apple is manufacturing MacBook cases from a single piece of Aluminum. That would be the MacBook Brick. If that's true, may we please have a location of the plant that's supposed to make them? If it's true, how come we didn't hear anything about it earlier?
I'm looking forward to see what Apple is going to pull of on October 14th. And I am interested in more than just the deign.
The USB memory stick which also works as a bottle opener is an inventive yet inefficient idea. Following a logical line of thinking you would end up realizing that if you desperately need a bottle opener with you at all times, then you shouldn't mix one with an USB stick. In other words you're likely to loose the stick after one too many beers. Because I am sure you won't realize you need to get that beer opener in your pocket when heading for home.
However if you fancy this TrekStor creation then head to Europe. It's there where where USB users lack bottle openers. You can choose various models, from 1 to 16GB and they will cost you from about $10 to $71.
I don't know what's happening with Apple, but the iPhone creator has just approved a VoIP application for the handset. Fring is available from the iTunes store for free now and you can use it for free, unlimited calls. Sure you're going to pay for your data but I'd install it for all those times when a free WiFi spot is accessible. Better get it now too since you'll never know when Apple changes its mind about the whole VoIP thing.
Here's what Fring says:
You will have one searchable contact list with all your instant messaging buddies from Skype, MSN Messenger, Google Talk, ICQ, Twitter, Yahoo! and AIM, so you can easily see whose available and where they can be reached before dialing or starting a live chat session.
The ASUS N10 was announced in September with a release set for the Korean market, but the good news is that NewEgg has added the notebook to their catalog, and it can already be purchased on their website.
The specifications are already known, but the different prices taking in consideration the configurations are something new. With that in mind, check out the three N10 combinations:
N10E-A1 - cheapest model with a $600 price tag. Sports a 160GB hard-drive, WiFi, 1GB of RAM memory and Windows XP Home as the operative system.
N10J-A1 - more ram (2GB), a real graphics drive unit which is the GeForce 9300M with 256MB, a 6-cell battery, and an updated OS - Vista Home Premium. Priced at $700.
Sony has revealed its latest ebook reader, it is now in the third generation and is codenamed PRS-700. This one is small and light-weight, only 283 grams and the size of a paperback book.
The digital book reader has the usual touchscreen functions that in this case are similar to the iPhone, which means that to flip a page you only need to slide your finger across the screen. The screen size can be considered good, 6-inches with zoom in and zoom out features. In terms of text size there are 5 options you can pick.
Extra features include support for memory cards - SD and Memory Stick Duo, a built-in LED light, and the option to create notes.
The HTC Rose or S740 has been approved by the FCC. The Rose is one of the last handsets made by HTC. It's Windows Mobile handset like all recent HTC devices, excepting the Dream of course. The rose comes with a hybrid keybad/keyboard, GPS, WiFi and a 3.2 megapixel camera. Think of it like a modified HTC Touch. Add a slide-out full keyboard and a keypad and you get the Rose. You'd also have to remove the touchscreen to get a Rose. That last part you might not like!
The Rose is ready to be sold in the USA. All it needs now is some 3G support for the US since it only has quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM/EDGE for now. Let's see what carrier will pick this one up!
Kingston is ready for the next DDR RAM level. I am talking about DDR3 memory modules which are already shipping in the USA. The model you should be looking for is the HyperX from Kingston. They will be the fastest DDR3 made so far with speeds of 2GHz. The 2GB model will feature CL9-9-9-27 @ 1.9v and their price will start from $227.
I'd expect the competition to come up with similar DDR3 modules soon which will lead to a price decrease. Not that $227 is that expensive for the speed the new RAM promises.
