Now you can feel like those suckers putting in a full day at the Springfield power plant. That is, you’ll be under the watchful eye of C. Montgomery Burns with this webcam. You’ll know exactly how Karl and Lenny feel, not to mention Homer. Don’t fall asleep with a donut in your mouth.
The webcam includes a large clip that allows it to be attached to your flat-panel monitor or laptop screen. Specs: 30 fps @ 640 x 480 with built-in microphone, supports USB enabled machines running Windows 98, 2000, XP and Vista, runs with Skype, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and AOL messenger. You can pick up this little tyrant for $49.99.
I’m thinking you’ll want a Smithers webcam to go with him. I mean, he’s nothing without his lackey.

The Eco Button connects via USB and puts your PC into sleep mode, thus saving precious Watts and making Al Gore smile, despite the fact that he has become portly in a William Shatner kind of way. It will even wake the PC up, when it’s time to get back to work. The bundled software records the carbon units saved.
As Ubergizmo pointed it, it probably takes a lot of carbon units to build the button and then when it hits the trash one day, it will pollute anyway. Plus it looks like a Frisbee. This somewhat pointless green gadget will cost you $18.

WD launched the new My Passport Essential USB hard drive today with a new glossy look created to go along with the design of the company’s popular My Book hard drives. Like the My Book, the small new Essential drives have that “book” look to them with a bull-nose “binding” on one side.
But, aside from the new glossy digs this drive is still pretty much the same small pocket-sized portable drive that’s powered solely from its USB connection. It comes in sizes of 160GB, 250GB and 320GB with the largest capacity launching with a price tag of a penny under $200. They also come with some software to automatically sync up and store data from your computer along with some Google tools.
Western Digital has the new drives available now from their site and already out in some physical retail locations.

Yes it’s time for YABUP - that’s “Yet Another Brando USB Product” in case you’re not familiar with the acronym (thank you, thank you.. I’m proud of that one!). In any event - the product in question is the Brando USB Aroma Radio + Speaker. You have to love Brando product names - they describe EXACTLY what the product does. It’s indeed an Aroma oil burner, AM/FM radio, as well as portable speaker system. You can easily connect an external audio device such as an iPod, or CD player to the Brando device and pipe music through the internal speakers - all while smelling the scented oil coming from the device. It even makes a cool psychedelic bed time light circulating seven different colors.
The feature summary is as follows:
- Built-in speaker
- AM/FM radio
- 7 color changing LED light
- Powered by USB port or batteries
- USB cord
- Measures 88 x 88 x 116 mm and weighs 124 grams.
You can buy the Brando USB Aroma Radio + Speaker for $30 bucks.

Star Wars USB drives are not new. We’ve covered them before, but now there are some limited edition versions that have Star Wars content pre-loaded on the drives themselves. Content like six trailers, wallpaper, icons, avatars, and sounds. They come in an assortment of characters like Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Stormtrooper, R2D2, Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Princess Leia, and Han Solo.
These are available for preorder now from 1GB to 4GB with prices ranging from $49.95 to $124.95. The fun doesn’t end with the USB drive, they also throw in some fun mimobot stickers and a small carrying case is included as well.
Whether you are with the rebel alliance or the empire, order some already.

If you’re in the market for a cute looking USB flash drive, then you might be interested in this Penguin shaped USB flash drive being sold over at GeekStuff4U. You can fully remove the drive from the Penguin and then slide it right into your computer’s available USB port. There’s nothing fancy about this device - you get 1GB of space for roughly $63 dollars (yes you’re paying quite a bit for something that’s “cute”). Sorry - you’ll never see me carrying this but hey - maybe your kids will like them?

Data Drive Thru, the makers of the Tornado USB peer-to-peer connection device for PC’s, have given it an upgrade this year and are launching the iTornado sometime in March of this year. The iTornado works much like its predecessor making a direct connection between computers via USB. The upgrade for this model allows users to not only connect two PC’s, but also allows them to connect a PC to an Intel based Mac to transfer files back and forth.
The device consists of two retractable USB cables and built-in software so there is nothing to install. Simply plug-in both computers and a list of files available on both computers will display, and it will display on both computers. From there users can simply drag and drop files between the two and transfer them via USB 2.0 at up to 25Mb/second. The iTornado can make upgrading or switching from a PC to a Mac a lot easier than trying to find the other computer via a common network or copying back and forth with a thumb drive.
Data Drive Thru says the iTornado will start shipping in March and comes with a copy of PC Eraser for just under $80.

This unique looking USB will definitely make your workload easier. Works well with MAC or Windows based computers.
When connected to the USB ports of two computers, iTornado immediately initiates a peer-to-peer network via its patented No Software To LoadTM, or NSTL TechnologyTM, which auto-loads and auto-runs the software and drivers needed to move the data bi-directionally from one computer to another via a user-friendly split-screen display that within seconds appears on the monitor of both machines showing the contents of each machine. From this interface, files can be dragged and dropped from one machine to another at speeds of up to 25 Mb/sec. The iTornado also can be used to quickly create back-up files and is compatible with most Apple® and Microsoft® operating system programs.
This USB will be available in March. $79.95
