AVING is reporting that Sharp plans on launching a new 120Hz 1080p LCD lineup in Japan called the AQUOS E Series. The new sets will have resolutions of 1920 x 1080, 2000:1 contrast ratio, 176 degree viewing angles, and 450 cd/m2 brightness.
The E series will come in four display sizes - 37 inch, 42 inch, 46 inch, and 52 inch. No word on pricing but these displays should be coming out in March.

Sharp will soon introduce three models in the new AQUOS X Series of LCD TVs into the market. The 46V, 42V and 37V-inch TVs not only deliver high-quality pictures, but also bring a refined sense of quality to interior décor when mounted on the wall. With a mere 3.44 cm thick, the AQUOS X Series can accommodate the needs of consumers who want to mount a flat-panel TV on the wall to take full advantage of its thin profile, or who desire to change their living room décor by decorating a wall with it like a painting.

Here’s a great multi-purpose entertainment system from Philips. The DCD778/37 docking system comes with lots of features such as: a 8.5″ widescreen LCD display, Built-in cooking timer and clock, Integrated iPod dock, and a DVD and audio CD playback. Price and availability is still unknown.

The next best thing to a sidekick has just arrived by Sharp. The PV250 PDA features a swiveling LCD, a QWERTY keyboard, a slot for microSD cards and a 1.3-megapixel camera. Price and release date remain unknown.

Sony will released their new B4000 series this quarter. Every model includes virtual surround sound, Sony’s trademark “BRAVIA Engine,” dual HDMI ports, and integrated Freeview digital TV tuners, your choice of white and mocha. Unfortunately this series is only available in Europe right now. No word on release dates or pricing.

Last week at CES 2008 Philips launched the new 7000 FlatTV series line of HDTV LCD’s, boasting a design look that promises to stand out from the sea of LCDs on the market today. The 7000 series comes in sized from 19 to 52 inches and offers some unique features such as rounded edges instead of the usual square corners, four HDMI 1.3a input ports and the absence of a front speaker grill in the bezel.
The 7000 FlatTV line has speakers on the back and pushes the sound through the acrylic frame around the TV to avoid having the speaker grill on the front. This Philips LCD also has the 120Hz ClearLCD technology with a 2ms response time and the HD Digital Motion which will actually estimate motion in some recorded movie content and insert its own “compensation frames” to keep the motion looking smoother. The sets of course also feature the LED Ambilight which produces a light behind the TV.
Philips says the 7000 FlatTV series should be available yet this spring and will range in price from $1799 - $2799 depending on the size.
