A PS3 is a PS3 is a PS3, so how exactly do you one-up-man your best mate in the console wars? Add a home projector, of course. Suddenly, Wii tennis becomes more Wimbledon than ever before, and Manhunt becomes downright terrifying.
The colours on this projector in gaming mode and designed to be punchy and bright, as opposed to focusing on getting the natural skin tones of Mario and friends (he always did look a little pale). There’s an HDMI input, and it projects in 720p, and there are in-built speakers to minimise the wires for you to trip over. There’s also an SD card slot, for simple slideshow functionality and music playback.

Love your Wii but tiring of your standard control options? Looking for something that involves less arm swinging, feels a little bit more like an Xbox or PS3 experience, and loses that Classic Controller cable? Well the folks from Nyko are here for you, and they want to hold you all night long… and they brought the Wing. What’s the Wing you ask? It’s essentially a standard gamepad on highly concentrated crack-cocaine. The wireless controller features two analog sticks and a plethora of buttons (both up front and around the back), and can run for around 30 hours on a pair of AAA batteries. No word on price or release date, but if you notice a sudden crime wave and rash of unexplained fires, the Wing is probably out.

So everyone and their dog are playing Guitar Hero, but what about your neighbor Ned Flanders? What with Rock and Roll being charged with sex, drugs and everything a good Christian could hate, it’s great for heathens, but what about little Rod and Todd? How is good old Reverend Lovejoy going to rock in his spare time and still be holier then thou?
Enter Guitar Praise, sure to be the boring-est, most goody two shoes, and holiest answer to Guitar Hero yet. I can’t confirm this, but I’m thinking you can unlock heroes from the 700 Club complete with polyester suit as well as big haired female pitchmen who will praise the lord, ask for donations and then rock your socks off with no suggestive or lewd content whatsoever. The game will be coming soon to Mac and PC for $100. It’s bundled with one wireless guitar, that surprisingly doesn’t sport a cross on the end and there’s a long list of exciting music from people you don’t know.

Racing into the virtual world, we have featured numerous simulators that are customized and modified to satiate the hunger and desire of those seeking the ultimate in the speeding arena. The latest is the GT5P Pod that is believed to be one of a kind. Fitted with a 40? LCD and a PS3 with DFGT, this cockpit is estimated to crash into your vault to rip off about $15,000.
Though not much is revealed about its other features and specs, going by the images, it seems to be sturdy with two metal loops housing a comforting chair along with the wheel and other gears. However, it doesn’t seem to have room for the sound system, as I can see the speakers placed out of this pod.
Nevertheless, the cockpit sure looks inviting!

Korea-based GamePark has released official information on its newest portable gaming and multimedia system, the Wiz GP2X. The system is built around a 2.8-inch OLED touch screen that delivers 320×240-pixel resolution. The Wiz will play MPEG4, XVID and DiVX videos, and be compatible with Flash Player 7, in addition to playing homebrew games that don’t have to go through a lengthy licensing process. In addition, GamePark promises new releases, homebrew and otherwise, every month.
The Wiz GP2X will sport a 533MHz ARM9 CPU along with a 3D accelerator, 64MB of RAM and 16GB of flash memory, comparing favorably to Sony’s latest 333MHz PSP that makes do with only 64MB of onboard memory. The Wiz GP2X’s built-in Li-ion battery also promises to deliver 5 hours of gaming.
The Wix GP2X will be priced at $179 when it launches on October 8.

It’s been at least an hour since Sony has released a new PlayStation 3 SKU, so our friends at Joystiq took the time to take a breath. In that moment, they came up with a handy — and somewhat startling — chart that explains which PS3 model has what, including Cell chip size (the more efficient and quieter 65nm vs the older 90nm), USB port count, pack-in freebies, and which ones have PS2 backwards compatibility. It’s charts like that that remind us that no currently-shipping PS3 comes with HD video cables or PS2 backward compatibility, for better or worse. Hit the read link for the breakdown, and start your fanboy engines.
