iSpank Apple logo spanking paddle

iSpank Apple logo spanking paddleWhat can you say about a paddle that will inflict not only pain but brand others with Apple’s logo? We aren’t all born with the mark ya know. This device is great for so many reasons. If you’re an Apple hater, you can run around Zorro style and give those iPhone users the what for with a good smack. If you love Apple, you may want to brand even your girlfriend with the famous logo for some reason, though you will surely pay dearly.

It’s also a great way to incorporate your love of gadgetry into some of your questionable bedroom activities. Hey, I’m not judging. Of course, it’s created from a ping pong paddle and a stencil. Hell have your own Mac/Apple cult, wearing black robes. Smack! “Thank you sir, may I have another?”

great showdowns of the 8-bit era [video game art]

I think I have a new favorite video game artist. I’ve already got a set of Scott Campbell’s hilarious Pac-Man illustrations in my house, and now I’m totally in love with his new “Great Showdowns (of the 8-Bit era)” series that he did for the 2008 iam8-bit video game art show at the World of Wonder gallery in Hollywood, Ca.

Scott’s mini paintings (3″ x 5″ each) offer a whimsical take on the confrontations between classic video game characters and their various nemeses. Dig Dug tries to make friends with Pooka and Fygar instead of exploding their insides, while Frogger contemplates how exactly he’ll jump onto that damned log so he can make it home from work once again. Back in the day, I pumped so many quarters into Moon Patrol, that the moon buggy vs. happy rock scene is my personal favorite.

While the original paintings have already found good homes, for $100 you can get your hands on a set of 5 mini prints (limited to just 30 per edition), signed and numbered by Campbell over on A Paper Tiger If you want a set for your wall, you’d better hurry.

The iPhone arm is a handy accessory

I thought this was mildly funny. And true. These people hate the iPhone. Though I’m sure some of you will want to arm yourself with this handy accessory. Enjoy.

Circuit City mad at Mad magazine

Circuit City mad at Mad magazine
I remember Mad magazine. The fold up joke page. The bad humor. Apparently it’s still around and going strong, has Circuit city pretty pissed off even. In this month’s issue of Mad Magazine, there’s an ad parody for Circuit City that reads Sucker City!. The parody takes aim at the electronics retailer and maybe says what many people were already thinking.

Like how they are always across the street from a Best Buy, Expensive TVs and how the price always goes up right after you bought them. Circuit city is not happy and ordered that all copies being sold at their stores be destroyed. I really doubt that anyone buys Mad Magazines from Best Buy anyway. In the ad you’ll also notice the Wii Epilepsy bundle with optical disc and bitestick controller.

“The Shining” starring Tribot & 2 Femisapiens

Check out this spoof of The Shining with Tribot as Danny and 2 Femisapiens as the twin girls. It’s great for a hearty geek laugh. After seeing this mini movie, I firmly believe that we should be re-creating all sorts of classic movies with robots. All the time. Toy robots. Go on, you know you want to click it.

crabfu golf robot hits the links

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a very good golfer. If you take par, then multiply it by a factor of 1.5x, that’s about what I usually hit. So I guess I was pretty pleased to see that this little robotic golfer doesn’t play any better than I do.

CrabFu Motionworks Putter Bot Golf Robot

CrabFu’s Putter Bot is a remote-controlled robot that’s designed to do just one thing - putt the ball.

CrabFu Motionworks Putter Bot Golf Robot

Nope, it can’t hit a 200 yard tee shot, nor can it get out of a sand trap, but it should be able to gently tap the ball into the hole from a few club-lengths away.

Of course, that assumes that the person controlling the Putter Bot can actually aim. I counted 4 strokes on that last putt. Maybe with a little more practice, it could hit a proper two-putt.

dumbbell alarm clock forces you to work out

This new alarm clock makes you tone up when you wake up. By embedding a motion sensor into a dumbbell, this clever clock ensures you’ll work out every morning.

Shape Up Alarm Clock by Fred

Designed by Yuk Wang for Fred Worldwide, the SHAPE UP! alarm clock makes you flex your arm for at least 30 reps before the alarm shuts off.

Shape Up Alarm Dumbbell by Yuk Wang

Just order two and set them go off at the same time, and you’ll actually be able to work out BOTH of your arms. There’s no price or release date yet, but I’d expect to see these turn up over at Perpetual Kid at some point in the near future, since they’ve been known to carry stuff from Fred before.
