Although Nokia wanted to launch its Comes With Music service in India since 2009, this didn’t happen – however, Nokia hasn’t given up and it plans to introduce CWM in the country in the first half of 2010.
According to PC World, a Nokia India spokeswoman declared that Comes With Music would be available on select Nokia smartphones (Eseries, Nseries and Xseries), offering unlimited music downloads for one year.
Reportedly, the music will be DRM-protected, despite recent rumors of Nokia going DRM-free.
Nokia didn’t unveil pricing details for its Comes With Music offering for India.

As a reminder, Nokia Comes With Music could also be launched in the US this year.

Can you spot the difference between 5230 and the new 5235? Well, you won’t because it’s similar to 5230, repackaged as 5235 and supports Comes with Music service. The device bundles Comes with Music PIN, which when activated gives a user to download music legally for up to 12 or 18 months. Users will be able to download music right on their phones or through a PC using Ovi Player.
On the specs front, it’s the same as 5230 except the available storage to user which in this case is 320MB as compared to 5230’s 70MB. It still runs on S60 5th Edition OS and features quad-band GSM/tri-band 3G support, 3.2-inch touchscreen, A-GPS, 2MP camera, FM Radio, Bluetooth and microSD card slot.
It will come out next year for 145 euros before tax and subsidies.

Announced last week during NW09, the new Nokia X6 touchscreen phone should be available starting the fourth quarter of the year, for €450 – a Nokia Comes With Music subscription is included in this price.
According to the press release that presented the X6, the phone will only be sold with the mentioned CWM subscription.
However, it looks like there will be a cheaper version of it, with only 16GB of internal memory (instead of 32GB) and without Nokia’s music download service that many may not need.

Expansys lists the Nokia X6 16GB as being available in the UK starting February 24, 2010, for £344.99 (about $566). The regular X6 (Comes With Music included) appears as being available starting November 12 this year, for £529.99 ($870).

It’s been less than one week since Nokia announced the upcoming launch of the 5800 Comes With Music edition via Orange UK (on May 29), and now we’re hearing that the phone will also be sold unlocked in the UK.
The SIM-free Nokia 5800 CWM should be available starting Friday, May 22, for the price of £299 (€340 or $458).
British customers will be able to find the unlocked 5800 CWM online, via the Nokia Shop website, or at the Nokia Regent Street and Nokia T5 stores.
Those who intend to buy the handset from Nokia Regent Street should know that they can get it for 50% less – if they’re among the first 100 customers to visit the store between 12PM and 13PM and bring in at least two old devices (i.e. a cell phone of any brand plus an iPod or an MP3 player).

Of course, after buying the Nokia 5800 Comes With Music, you will be able to enjoy unlimited music downloads for a whole year, from Nokia’s catalogue that includes more than 6 million tracks.

Nokia’s Comes With Music service is slowly but surely spreading around the world.
Currently available only in the UK and Singapore (Australia should get it on March 20), Comes With Music will also be launched in India, one of the world’s largest mobile markets.
The service will probably be rolled out in India just like it was in the UK – thus customers will have to buy special edition phones that are offered with free CWM subscriptions for one or two years.
After that, customers will be able to download as much music as they want and keep it on their phone / PC even after their subscription expires.
According to Mr. Chandan Dang, Regional General Manager at Nokia India, CWM might be offered with low-end phones, in order to better target Indian consumers.
An exact release date for Comes With Music was not given, but the service is expected to be available in India “in the first half of this year”.

Shortly after unleashing the Comes With Music service in Singapore, Nokia now wants to conquer Australia with it as well.
The Finnish company has just announced that the unlimited music download service is set to debut on March 20 in the Southern hemisphere country.
Even more, Nokia will also launch its 5800 XpressMusic touchscreen handset, thus offering Australian users the chance to have one of the most craved music-oriented devices in the last months (its global sales topped 1 million units since the end of 2008).

Together with a 12-month subscription to Comes With Music, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will cost 979 AUD (640 USD). You’ll also be able to buy it with a 18-month CWM subscription, for 1,109 AUD (725 USD).
Both offerings will allow you to download as much music as you want until the subscription period ends.
