Slowly but surely, Motorola is easing away from the tired design of the old RAZR and looks ready to try something new. Their first QWERTY slider could be launching soon, in the form of the Motorola QA30, and now we find that the Motorola Attila, too, takes on a new approach in design.
If these leaked Motorola Attila pictures turn out to be of the real thing, that is. You see, while we here at Unwired View are as thirsty for new material as the next phone geek, we’re not entirely convinced that Motorola will launch a robust, iPhone clone-like handheld like this one as their official iPhone killer.

We have faith left in Motorola, no matter how little, and somehow know that they won’t (or shouldn’t) come out with a monstrosity such as this, if their successful days with the slim and sharp RAZR taught them any good.

The fact that the second photo we’ve embedded here shows the alleged Motorola Attila with a very iPhone-esque theme doesn’t help convince us either. With a theme like that, it might as well be just another clone, much like the Motorola Aura knock-off we spotted last week.
Well, if ever they get their chance, I’m sure Motorola will officially announce and release the Attila… some day. By then, we’ll find out if “antony3322@PhoneHK” was right all along.

Here’s another clone out of China. The HB 778 dual SIM card phone looks a lot like a phone we know. Yep. The Touch Diamond or Touch Pro. It sports a 2.8-inch touch screen and of course, dual slider design that slides up for the numeric keypad and side slide for gaming keys instead of a QWERTY keyboard. You’ll get a TV function, FM radio, 2.8-inch Touch screen, touch keypad with vibrator, 1.0-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, dual SIM slot, and microSD slot. It even comes preloaded with classic games like Super Mario. The very familiar HB 778 will cost you $151.

It’s amazing how fast Chinese cloners move. They’ve done it again. Poor Motorola. They tried so hard to keep their beautiful new phone off of ebay. Here it is in all of it’s clone-y-ness.
It’s called the Wingtech D20, and basically what they have done is take all the beauty of the Aura and flush it down the toilet through the use of cheap plastics and bad colors. And there ya have it. Instant crap-gadget for people on a budget. Everyone will know you’re on a budget when they see this thing. Some features include: Swiveling, switchblade-like design exactly like the Motorola Aura, Support for dual-band GSM networks, GPRS Class 10, 1.5-inch TFT 128 x 128 pixel LCD, Multi-language support, MP3 and MP4 player, USB connectivity, and Up to 4 hours of talk time and 120 hours on standby.

Can’t afford the $2000 Motorola Aura? Well, our Chinese brothers have tried to bring the ‘luxury’ of the Aura into Wingtech D20 and that too at almost 1/10th of the original’s price. You won’t get 700 working components in this phone nor sapphire crystals but the high class materials will be substituted with plastic and wonderful artwork besides the screen.
The specs include support for dual-band GSM networks, GPRS class 10, music player, 1.5-inch screen with 128×128 pixel resolution, USB port and a talk time of 4 hours. One area where the clone outsmarts the original is in the camera department. Wingtech D20 sports 3-megapixel as compared to 2-megapixel of Aura.

Sure, this portable gaming system might LOOK just a little bit like the Sony PSP, but don’t expect it to play any games made in the last 15 years.

Another in a long line of cheap Chinese knock-off systems, the 2PG TC8281 handheld plays a mish-mash of questionable 8-bit and 16-bit retro games that come only on special multi-game cartridges.

The 2PG console comes with five built-in games, as well as an additional “112 in 1″ game cartridge, for a total of 117 games for under $50. Hundreds of additional games can be played if you know where to look for the proper cartridges. The system also has an AV out and comes with a cheezy-looking Playstation clone controller so you can play games on your TV.

If you’re willing to take a gamble on one of these somewhat suspect systems, you can get your hands on one over at DealExtreme for $48.80 USD.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is not yet commercially available, but that didn’t stop some Chinese phone producer to clone it.
Called Li 5800, the 5800 XpressMusic copycat looks very amateurish when compared to the original. Feature-wise, the fake 5800 is not that bad, but it still falls behind the real thing.
For example, Li 5800 has a 3 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of only 240 x 400 (while the resolution of the true 5800’s screen is of 360 x 640 pixels).
Perhaps a good thing about Li 5800 is the fact that it has some sort of Mobile TV receiver, but we can’t possibly say if that functions properly.

Obviously, Li 5800 does not run on Symbian S60, but on some Chinese-made OS.

The price of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic clone is not known, but it should be way lower than the one of the original (about $600).
I say we’d better wait for the real 5800, although most of the markets will only get it starting early 2009.

Looks like real honest to God iPod Nano 4G hardware, but you’ll notice it has no Apple logo and it probably is equipped with non-Apple software inside. Call Anakin Skywalker and the rest of the Jedi council. Begun, the clone wars have. Those who don’t visit gadget sites are doomed to buy this thing. You’ll also notice that this clone is thin as an anorexic supermodel, which has us hoping that the Nano 4G will keep its slim form.
