Music phones with built-in audio chips aren’t exactly new, but have you ever tried one with a piece from Yamaha? If you want to, then you should keep your eyes on the simple Fly MC130. I’m not sure if its name is supposed to be a joke (there’s a kind of plane called the MC130) or if there’s pun involved, but I’m getting it, if only partially.
Among its main features are the inclusion of a standard headphone jack, miniUSB connector for quick syncing of music files, and the aforementioned Yamaha audio chip. All these should already make for a good music-listening experience, but of course, that’s not all.

Here’s a quick list of the Fly MC130’s other great feats:
- Support for standard connection: GSM900/DCS1800/PCS1900 or GSM850/DCS1800/PCS1900, GPRS Class12
- Dimensions: 109h46, 5h13 mm
- Messages: SMS / EMS / MMS / E-Mail
- Display: 2-inch, a resolution 176h220 points, TFT, displaying more than 262 thousand colors
- Camera: 1.3 MP, CMOS, feature web camera, video support
- Sound: 64-s tone ringtone, support for MP3-ringtones
- Entertainment: FM-radio, MP3 player with support for microSD memory cards, video player, Java games
- Bluetooth v2.0 (including profiles A2DP, DUN, HFP, AVRCP, FTP, OPP, SPP), USB 1.1
- Other features: Alarm clock, reminders, notes, do list, calculator, calendar, Voice Memo, World Clock, Currency Converter and values, Stopwatch
It is said to be scheduled for a release early next week, with a retail price of 4,000 Russian rubles or about $145 USD. That’s just about the right price to consider it a bang-for-buck giving gadget. Anyone looking for a music phone to give to a music-loving friend for Christmas this year can have this to consider.

Sure, this portable gaming system might LOOK just a little bit like the Sony PSP, but don’t expect it to play any games made in the last 15 years.

Another in a long line of cheap Chinese knock-off systems, the 2PG TC8281 handheld plays a mish-mash of questionable 8-bit and 16-bit retro games that come only on special multi-game cartridges.

The 2PG console comes with five built-in games, as well as an additional “112 in 1″ game cartridge, for a total of 117 games for under $50. Hundreds of additional games can be played if you know where to look for the proper cartridges. The system also has an AV out and comes with a cheezy-looking Playstation clone controller so you can play games on your TV.

If you’re willing to take a gamble on one of these somewhat suspect systems, you can get your hands on one over at DealExtreme for $48.80 USD.

Here are the known specs and capabilities of MOTO VE240:
-
1.5 inch CSTN display with 128 x 128 pixels and 65K colors
-
MP3 player

“High audio” speakerphone
-
2.5-mm stereo headset jack
-
USB 2.0
-
Picture messaging
-

Cricket said the MOTO VE240 will be available for only $89.99 after a $30 instant rebate. Tusla will be the first town to get the new candybar, while Cricket’s other markets should get it starting the coming weeks.
MetroPCS will launch the MOTO VE240 in the next weeks too, but it didn’t say for what price.

Nokia, the “king of emerging markets”, has just announced the upcoming release of no less than 7 (seven) new cheap phones.
Most of these handsets come with Mail on Ovi and Nokia Life Tools, two new services especially created for mobile users in emerging markets.

Nokia Life Tools, a suite of agriculture information and education services, is created for rural and small town communities. The services leverage on an icon-based user interface and on SMS, providing “timely and relevant information” to farmers and students. Nokia Life Tools will first be launched in India, starting 2009, with other Asian and African markets to follow later.

Nokia 2320 classic, Nokia 2323 classic and Nokia 2330 classic are basic handsets that look alike and offer “premium looks and practicality”. They all feature Mail on Ovi and Nokia Life Tools. Nokia 2320 classic and Nokia 2323 classic will be available in the second quarter of 2009 for a retail price of €40 each. Nokia 2330 classic will hit the market at about the same time, but for €50.
Finally, Nokia 1202 and Nokia 1661 are two ultra-basic phones.

We don’t hear much about Alcatel mobile phones, but the latest handset to come out under this brand surely deserves a bit of our attention.
Called Alcatel OT-I650, the new phone is an entry-level one that comes with a G-sensor (accelerometer). This apparently allows users to switch between applications – like music player, games, alarm – just by shaking the phone. So the handset has some sort of Shake Control function, similar to lots of Sony Ericsson phones.
Alcatel OT-I650 is a candybar manufactured by TCL Communication Technology, a Chinese company that produces Alcatel cell phones instead of the French-based Alcatel, which is now part of the Alcatel-Lucent joint venture.

The OT-I650 is a sporty device, not only by design, but also because it offers several sport applications, like a pedometer that should help you when jogging.
Other specs of the new Alcatel phone include:

Alcatel OT-I650 will first be available in Russia, in two colors (black and orange) for the price of 3,190 Russian rubles. That’s about $120, so the phone is quite cheap.

Nokia 2600 is a basic candybar that was officially announced by the Finnish manufacturer at the beginning of 2008. The device is targeted mainly at emerging markets, so it might come as a surprise that, today, AT&T has launched it in the US, in two color versions: black and red.
AT&T is offering the Nokia 2600 for free for those who sign a contract agreement for two years. The phone’s “real price” is of $150, though.
Naturally, at such a low price, the 2600 won’t lure anyone with its features. The handset doesn’t even have a MicroSD card slot.
Here are the main specs and capabilities of Nokia 2600, as presented by AT&T:
-
Dual band GSM/GPRS connectivity, 850 / 1900 MHz
-
128 x 128 pixels TFT display
-
Web browser and MEdia Net
-
Email, Instant Messaging
-
Bluetooth
-
MP3 ringtones
-
Hands-free speakerphone
-
VGA camera
-
Talk time: up to 3 hours
-
Stand by time: up to 16 days
-
3.17 ounces
-
4.21 x 1.84 x 0.79 inches
Nokia 2600 should be on sale in most of AT&T’s store. But if you don’t feel like making a trip to a store, the handset can be bough online too: here in the red version and here in the black one.
