Myvu makes Crystal video eyewear iPhone compatible

It was inevitable as the Myvu Crystal personal media viewer was already iPod compatible including Microsoft’s Zune and some mobile phones like the Nokia N95. Now expanding its compatibility horizon, Apple has announced that the device works fine with the iPhone as well. All you need is burn your extra $24.99 to buy a cable from Myvu’s online store that makes two separate devices work together in a harmonic manner. The video eyewear delivers VGA resolution which is presently Myvu’s best quality. Not only that, the eyewear comes bundled with a pair of noise-cancelling ear buds for a better video viewing experience on the go. Fully charged built-in rechargeable battery delivers a non-stop cinematic experience for 4 hours. Priced at $299.95, the eyewear is worth its price as it is also compatible with few videogame consoles. Hence, gaming geeks who are anticipating successors of Xbox360/PS3, can spare their few hundred for the looming console by not investing on an HDTV [provided, Myvu Crystal is compatible with Xbox360/PS3 - II].

Motorola ZN5 hits T-Mobile for $99

Motorola ZN5 was in the news for long, and here it is. No wonder, it’s coming from T-Mobile as it was bound to happen. The handheld is the first in the row to feature Kodak imaging technology. Named one of the greatest camera phones available in the market, ZN5 boasts a 5 megapixel camera, autofocus feature and Xenon flash to help you get better pictures. Few other features include 2.4 inch screen capable of showing 262K colors, built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, and internal memory of 350MB that can be expanded up to 4GB. One of the coolest features that differentiate the handset from others is the ability to make a panoramic picture by stitching three shots together. What all you need is take a shot and pan it to the right, and then the device will let you know when to click the next two shots. Once you are done with all three, the camera turns it into a single shot. No doubt, the feature is a boon for all paparazzi.

Motorola push back Android launch till next Christmas

The global meltdown has affected the entire world and there is hardly a business that has escaped the after effects. The impact is visible on almost all companies and that includes mobile-phone manufacturers too and hence Motorola might have postponed its handset spinoffs and Android phones till the next holiday season. After bagging a huge loss of $397 million and a sharp drop in sale figures in its third quarter earnings, Motorola co-CEO Sanjay Jha has stated that no Android phones will be launched until the holiday season of 2009. That is more than a year from now and all the Motorola fanboys will have to sit back. As per the company’s co-CEO’s statement, it seems, to recoup heavy financial loses, Motorola is focusing on phones based upon Windows Mobile.

E Ink concept makes the cellphone quite remarkable

Here at Unwired View, cellphone concepts come and go. But I think this idea for an E-ink phone by designer Anthony Reed will manage to stick. You see, this E-ink phone doesn’t look half as imaginative as many other concepts that we’ve covered here before, and yet when you think about it, something like it will still be very hard to produce.

The phone itself seems to be of a regular candybar design. But what’s different is that its display will be splattered with E-ink, and as such all the text, images, and probably other graphics will be rendered in plain black and white.

The outer casing looks like it’s made from solid metal, and even has a couple of hardware buttons seen here on its right side. While it’s definitely not the most creative way to approach cellphone concept making, making this usable enough to be a mainstream product will surely be a challenge for anyone who dares to make it.
