Facebook changes the law!
![]()
Facebook is probably more well known in 2007 for adding 250,000 users a day since January, with a total user base of over 60 million. That isn’t the whole story though as they have also become recognized for their user privacy policies, online marketing strategies and the increasingly vociferous debate over the use of Facebook in the workplace.
The icing on the cake this holiday season has to be the recent events in Canada where it has demonstrated that it is an “effective and efficient tool that can be used to educate and galvanize grassroots advocacy, placing unprecedented power into the hands of individuals.”
This is the story where Michael Geist the Internet Law professor has used Facebook to build momentum and “ten days after the Facebook group’s launch, Jim Prentice delayed introducing the new copyright reforms, seemingly struck by the rapid formation of concerned citizens who were writing letters and raising awareness.”
