Eee PCs may not die soon, touch screen Eees coming next year

From next year, we won’t need a mod to make this real as Asus will be announcing their touch screen enabled Eee PCs at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Samson Hu, GM, Eee PC business unit talking to Digitimes revealed their future plans regarding their best selling netbook. He also pointed out a cheaper (sub-$300) and a dual-core Atom powered Eee is in the offing as soon as Intel announces the shipment date for their processors.
“The company has not yet decided details of the models which will be updated but will reach a decision based on market demand. The company expects to showcase the products during CES 2009.”
