Digg founder predicts new iPhone next week, price cut on old model

We here at UV aren’t much for fortune-telling, so we are geniunely interested in learning about what Digg-founder Kevin Rose has to say about the new version of the iPhone. Now we already know that the new iPhone is likely to have 3G, and maybe even something of a built-in GPS, but if we are to believe what Mr. Kevin Rose says about the launch date, then we are absolutely may or may not be wrong. He says iPhone 2.0 could come as early as next week, just as we earlier reported, but doesn’t say in what day exactly.

Not only that, he also debunks earlier rumors about the iPhone being subsidized by AT&T and being made available for a measly $200 USD. You might view that as really bad news, but there’s something else in the crystal ball of Mr. Rose right now. It says that the old iPhone (that’s right, the one you own, or want to own) will be the one experiencing the price drop, to be made available at the $200 mark.

Kevin Rose predicting iPhone launch and price cut

If that’s the case, then we’ll be seeing an awful lot of people happily coming out of their local Apple stores next week, with either a new model or old model iPhone in hand, for reasons that can clearly be seen.

One thing that’s not clear though, is where Kevin Rose finds the time to make up source and confirm all of his predictions. True or not, we’ll be able to see in time.
