Canon Powershot G10 stuck between DSLR and Point-and-Shoot nomenclature

Canon revealed, G10 the top of the line Powershot digital camera from the G-Series. It is an upgrade over its predecessor G9 which gives the benefits of shooting RAW images just like a DSLR but in a small compact form factor of a point-and-shoot camera. G10 is equipped with 14.7 megapixel sensor, 5X optical zoom, 3-inch LCD, DIGIC 4 imaging processor with features like advanced face/motion detection, image stabilization, intelligent contrast correction and Servo AF. Servo AF is a form of continuous focus tracking for moving subjects.
The camera will be available from October at a price of $500.
