AT&T and LG announce upcoming LG eXpo WinMo handset with 1GHz processor and optional pico projector

AT&T and LG Electronics MobileComm USA announced today the upcoming availability of the new LG eXpo Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone – the first U.S. mobile handset to feature a 1GHz processor on the inside.  The eXpo will be available exclusively to AT&T customers and will support AT&T’s new HSPA 7.2 Mbps data network which is initially being rolled out in Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and Miami by the end of this year.

Not only is the eXpo the first U.S. handset to offer a 1GHz processor, it’s also the first North American device to support an optional integrated pico projector which snaps onto the back of the device. This means your phone is not only a communications device but also a projector capable of displaying presentations, slideshows, and videos. The LG mobile projector weighs a mere 1.8 oz and is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand yet also capable of projecting as far as eight feet away.

Other features and specs to the LG eXpo include:

The LG eXpo will be coming out on December 7th and will cost $199.99 after a $100 dollar mail-in rebate in the form of an AT&T Promotion Card and of course a new two-year agreement on a minimum $69.99 plan. The LG Mobile Projector will cost ya extra ($179.99) and will be available in the coming weeks.
