Apple’s General Counsel Jumps Ship After 10 Months

Donald, Donnie, Don–we could told you we could have told you when you signed up for that gig at Apple as the company’s general counsel, 10 months ago, that it would be an especially tough road to hoe. Between snapping at bloggers for posting leaked pics and suing every company with the audacity to misappropriate that special vowel near and dear to their heart, the job has got to one of the most trying in all the silicon valley.

Donald J. Rosenberg, who signed up for the position in November of last year, will be succeeded by Oracle’s general counsel, Daniel Cooperman, according to The New York Times.

Of course, there’s the very real possibility that Rosenberg is just a hardcore glutton for punishment. After all, when he joined Apple late last year, the company was embroiled in that stock options scandal. And, let’s face it, Rosenburg’s new client, Qualcomm, likely won’t be a walk in the park either, especially in light of the company’s recent tangle with Broadcom.
