Handsome Man Bank for lonely Japanese women

Handsome Man Bank for lonely Japanese women
Apparently all the good and handsome men are taken in Japan. I guess that’s why Japan’s women are finding romance with this virtual man called the “Handsome Man Bank”.

It comes in girl-friendly pink or white, with an LCD display that will show 5 handsome men. It costs about $50 and he’s a player alright. A real smooth guy with lines like “Can I kiss you?” or “May I rub your shoulders?” But at the end of the day he’s all talk, leaving some longing and needful Japanese women all hot and bothered. Should have come with another accessory for this phase I guess.

iRobot files Lawn Mowing Bot patent

iRobot files Lawn Mowing Bot patent
Our favorite makers of home robots, iRobot, won’t be satisfied until one of their creations kills us dead at home under the guise of cleaning or tidying up. One day your local police will have a special RV unit. That stands for Robotics Victim.

Anywho, iRobot has filed an iPatent for a lawn-mowing robot. It’s an 84-page filing with a variety of configurations, even an all-electric model and gas-electric hybrid. Some have acoustic and optical sensors that would seem to allow the robot to “avoid hard surfaces, water and other barriers”. Look, I’m on board with any bot you wanna put in my home. All I ask is that it’s aware of the fact that my heart pulled through my chest will kill me dead. Well, that and I want it to not be thrilled with that image.

Samsonite’s Tot Pod concept

Samsonite’s Tot Pod concept
Forget the fact that this thing looks like it’s designed to comfortably seat your helpless child and then snap it’s jaws shut while it digests your little tot, it’s actually designed with the safety of your child in mind. Designer, Aldo Barreto, a student from Ontario Canada, designed this modern baby car seat for a competition held by Samsonite.

He wanted to design a child transportation vessel that is more convenient. The ‘Tot Pod’ has a built-in child restraint system, carrying handle and even a storage compartment in the back, and drop down wheels to convert it from a car seat to a stroller. When not in use, it’s just an ominous looking clam shell.

Crazy iPhone 3G line forms in NYC

Crazy iPhone 3G line forms in NYC
The supply is expected to be plentiful, nevertheless a line has already begun outside of Apple’s Fifth Avenue retail store to buy iPhone 3G a week before its release. These people are serious and have their supplies for camping. Wouldn’t it be nicer to stay at home with your families?

Part of the line is occupied by some activists known as “Waiting for Apples” who are hoping to set a Guinness World Record and spread the word about sustainable agriculture. They brought their own solar-power generator, yoga mats, a compost bin full of worms, and probably other hippie essentials. Personally, I can’t think of a better way to spend a week then sitting on my ass next to these guys. Yeah, that would just be awesome…

Look, you’ve got your press, you’ll get your iPhone. Sitting in line to get your iPhone is right up there with camping out for Star Wars tickets in 1999. Your ass is real sore and it wasn’t what you thought it was thanks to Jar-Jar and kid Vader. Plus, a lot has happened in the world while you were away.

Apple Upset at Rogers for iPhone Pricing?

Last week we mentioned that most consumers are so upset at Rogers for the high iPhone data tariffs that they have started an online petition that numbered 10,000 strong and growing. Now it’s been rumored that Apple itself is joining the mutiny.

Boy Genius Report, the source of many legit rumors, has brought to light that Apple has diverted some of the Rogers iPhone stock to across the pond. Many Rogers iPhones are now destined to be in the Europeans’ hands.

Apple did not mention why iPhone stock has been diverted, but some people are speculating that Apple is punishing Rogers for their amazingly high data plans. Rogers is offering plans ranging from $60 CAN for 400 MB of data to $115 for 2 GB of data.

Since Canadian dollars and US dollars are almost equal, this means that AT&T iPhone users will be paying half as much as Rogers’ lowest rate–and will get unlimited data.

It sounds as though Apple is playing this game to convince Rogers they are demanding too much, thus making it less affordable and less desirable for the majority of potential customers. However it could be pure coincidence and simply just a peculiar business move on Apple’s part that has nothing to do with the data plans at all.

As more news comes out on this situation  we will be on top of it!
