Samsung Launches SGH-i200 Smartphone

Samsung officially launched the SGH-i200 yesterday which is a smartphone announced since February. With Samsung already having the Instinct running wild and getting ready for other markets and with the upcoming Samsung Omnia in our mind we cant help but wonder if this SGH-i200 is a winner.

HTC Touch Diamond Coming to Canada from Telus

Telus Mobility is going to be the Canadian HTC Touch Diamond provider starting this summer. Since they operate a CDMA network thats what they will be launching the CDMA version for HTC Touch Diamond.

The HTC Touch Diamond will be available with a plan or free depending if you want a relationship with Telus. The full price is CA449.99 while the contract price is CA149.99 for a three years contract.

Sony Ericsson W595 Linda Gets Spotted

Remember how Sony Ericsson released a whole bunch of phones just a few weeks ago? Besides the C905, most of them were entry level to mid range phones with various extra features. Garmin 860 nuvi-The First Full Menu Speech Control for Portable Navigation Systems

How about asking someone for directions? Well, you can do so now with the release of Garmin's new nüvi 860 touted as the first portable navigation device with full menu speech recognition. In addition, the 860 nüvi comes in with other features ranging from safety camera alerts and emergency location assistance to hands free calling and photo navigation with Google Panoramio.

Garmin's nüvi 860 uses full menu speech control to make driving safer and easier. It's now possible to keep both hands on the wheel and tell the nüvi 860 what to do and where to go. Furthermore, with the speech control and a Bluetooth link to your phone the nüvi 860 makes calling even safer as it allows you to interact with your phone totally hands free.

Other features include a traffic receiver that can display up to the minute traffic information, a Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free calling when paired with compatible phones and boasts a bright, sunlight-readable 4.3-inch colour touch screen display.

Hidden Gem: Wayne Electronics

I just wanted to share a little secret with our readers. There is this great electronics shop in Northern NJ, It’s called Wayne Electronics. No, it isn’t in Wayne, but rather up rt. 23 a bit in the town of Pompton Plains. They have been in business for 30 years and are willing to share their knowledge of electronics. This isn’t an advertisement, I just thought it would be a great resource for all the Makers in NJ.

They carry so many items for the electronics enthusiast, even supplies for etching your own PCB’s. There is a lot more stuff hidden in the back too, just ask.

If you are new to electronics, try one of the many Velleman kits in stock.

Sure, you can order parts from the Internet, but can you ask a question about the part? What about advice on a circuit you plan on building?
