Dell is rumored to be headed back into the handheld business. The so-called resurrection will come with a possible partnership with Hon Hai Precision Industry, aka Foxconn Electronics. Teaming up with Foxconn Electronics is said to bring about a Windows Mobile based handheld with GPS. Looks like Dell’s previous decision to hire Motorola’s VP of the Cell Phone division, Ron Garriques could really pay off. Or maybe Dell was a bit jealous of Acer with and their recent acquisition of E-Ten, so much so that Dell also wants join the handheld bandwagon once again.

Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories has a fantastic tutorial on how to make these little light-up origami balloons by actually tracing the circuit paths on the origami paper itself. I can imagine a driveway path illuminated with such things, or perhaps just a big pile of them, happily glowing.

MySpace Mobile has officially gone live. MySpace addicts can now access the social network website on their favorite mobile devices. While no other impressive features were added, MySpace is expecting that more and more users will get to try the mobile version. Just like the website version, MySpace Mobile also allows reading and send bulletins, accessing of MySpace message, approving friend requests, viewing of photos, searching for other users, posting comments, blogging, and checking out friends profiles.
Sprint particularly is MySpace’s partner in this venture but any compatible mobile phone can be used to access the mobile site. To access MySpace Mobile, users simply need to type m.myspace.com on their phone browsers to visit the website and start “MySpacing”. However good the MySpace Mobile seems, listening to songs and viewing videos are currently not possible. Hmmm...very limiting?

It’s no secret that mobile web usage is steadily gaining popularity nowadays, especially as more and more companies are working together to bring users a better overall experience while accessing the Internet with their products. The Web’s biggest search company, Google, mentions that there has indeed been a rise in mobile Web use. In a report by Reuters, Google cites that their recently released mobile plug-in software, has largely helped in increasing mobile Web usage. I agree with what Google states, but I think this is really because of the collaborative effort of all companies involved in mobile Internet, including the software developers, as well as the product manufacturers themselves. Nokia, RIM, Apple, and other top mobile device manufacturers have also played a large role in making this a possibility. If this goes on a few years more, who knows, maybe even my grandma will be surfing the ‘net because it’s so easy and convenient to do, even with just a handheld.

The long running rumor about The Beatles music coming to iTunes had recently resurfaced, and once again was quickly proven untrue, so now it only makes sense that we should see the unlimited download plan stories start to resurface. The Financial Times is reporting that Apple is again talking with the “major music companies to offer customers free access to its entire iTunes music library in exchange for paying a premium for its iPods and iPhones.”
According to the story the negotiations are stalled over just how much Apple is willing to pay up, Apple of course had not made any statement confirming or denying the story. We here would tend to believe this one is not true, but hey stranger things have happened.
